The painting Los emigrantes by Gastón Castelló forms part of an exhibition taking place in Valencia: Daring to go further. Valencia before Normative Art (1947-1960), organised by the Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM) and curated by Joan Ramon Escrivà and Nacho París.

Through a selection of more than two hundred works by more than fifty artists, the exhibition reviews the contribution of the diverse groups and artists that led the renewal of the arts in Valencia during this period, taking a fresh look at their work from an interdisciplinary perspective with a multidisciplinary methodology, mindful of the social context and simultaneously critical, with a conception of art as an autonomous reality.

The exhibition is open to visitors from 20 November 2025 to 1 February 2026.
