Morpho’s Nest in a Cadmium House, six sculptures by Lluís Lleó, have been installed in the entry to the Jardins del Palau de Pedralbes in Barcelona. Three of these works belong to the Banco Sabadell Collection.
The title of the installation refers to the tropical butterfly ‘Morpho’, which stands out due to its beauty and fragility. With this sculptural-pictorial installation, Lleó seeks to pay tribute to the tradition of Catalonian Romanesque frescoes. Part of the works have already crossed the Atlantic twice, as between April and August 2017 the works were displayed in Manhattan, New York, under The Sculpture Committee of The Fund for Park Avenue and NYC Parks Art, in the programme dedicated to parks and contemporary art, in which artists such as Jean Dubuffet, Robert Indiana and Niki de Saint Phalle have also participated.
