Contemporary photography occupies from the beginning a prominent place in the Banco Sabadell Collection. With great artists such as Chema Madoz, Joan Fontcuberta, Isabel Musoz and Eulalia Valldosera, among others, we find ourselves without doubt in front of one of the most outstanding photography collections on the national scene.
The selection of works that make up the Alegorias de lo cotidiano exhibition offers friendly and close places where the viewer participates in the different spaces, stories and situations proposed by the authors. A journey from the conceptual to the objective, which builds a poetic imaginary in which the photographic image produces a relaxation and a dissolution of the spaces and everyday objects.
In their allegorical function, the images presented defy another way of making, diverging, anchored in the process and applicable to the course of a common event. In this way, the magic of the everyday and its narrative dynamics change and operate as a symbol in visual construction.
