The concept of Estancias refers both to place — the house or the landscape, the dwelling or the room in which we ordinarily live — and to time, that is, to the act of remaining in a particular place or space.
If we seek an explanation of our world, we must refer both to its spatial reality and to its temporal reality.
It is in this dual sense that the exhibition Estancias should be understood. It brings together a selection of works from the Banco Sabadell Art Collection chosen for their ability to evoke places and spaces, exterior and interior, private and public: the environments in which we move, think and live.
