Photographer Jordi Bernadó picked 14 personalities for his reflection on identity through portraits. They are world leaders in human rights, feminism, ecology, science, the arts and advocating a better future.
They where all asked to select where they would like to be portrayed. It couldn’t be just any place, but their place in the world. That was one of the conditions. The other, that they had their backs to the camera. They couldn’t show their faces. The place they picked is what defines them. The landscape is the only clue that viewers have about the subject photographed.
ID project explores the essence of human identity, that which supposedly makes us unique.
We’ve all got a place in the world, a place we love and that we miss, a place to return to.
