The Banco Sabadell Art Collection has been honoured with the “A” Award by Fundación ARCO for corporate collecting. The decision of the foundation’s board to grant this award to Banco Sabadell was unanimous, based on the careful selection of artists and artwork, and the installation of artwork in a corporate environment, permitting employees as well as visitors to access them on a daily basis.
The awards ceremony was held at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, on February 23rd, and the award was collected by the Chairman of the Bank, Josep Oliu. In the words of the Director of the Art Collection, Miquel Molins: “This award is doubly satisfying, because, in addition to the merits of collecting in itself, it reflects the recognition of the quality of the pieces chosen, as well as the importance of the art being displayed in the offices and branches of the bank, in a way that it is shared with employees, clients and shareholders.”
