Between 6 October 2016 and 8 January 2017, the Banco Sabadell Collection will exhibit twenty pieces of contemporary art, grouped under the concept of «estancia» [space], in the SabadellHerrero exhibition centre in Oviedo.
«Space» refers to the place, house, setting, lodgings or room where one generally lives, and it also refers to time, to the time spent in a certain place or space. If we are to find an explanation of our world’s mysteries, we need to refer to its reality in both space and time.
The exhibition includes works by Manolo Ballesteros, Bleda & Rosa, Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács, Javier Calleja, José Cobo, Jordi Colomer, José Pedro Croft, Joan Hernández Pijuan, José Antonio Hernández-Díez, Lluís Hortalà, Miki Leal, Alejandro Leonhardt, Mateo Maté, Mabel Palacín, Sixeart (Sergio Paredes), Susana Solano, Jordi Teixidor and Mayte Vieta. The pieces have been selected based on their ability to evoke places and spaces, both indoors and outdoors, private and public, ‘spaces’ in which we move, think and live.
